What schools order most
Four places to start. Every one of these is a live collection you can price up before you call, and we will beat the shelf price on class quantities through a quote.
Tell us the class size, the program level and the term start date and we will build the list. What students need to be able to do by the end of the term is more useful to us than a product list, because it tells us where to spend the budget.
Tax exemption, step by step
Educational purchases are typically tax exempt with the right documentation from your state. The order of operations matters here, and getting it backwards is the single most common problem.
Email your current exemption certificate
Send a copy of your current state tax exemption certificate to support@c8nailsupply.com. We verify it and keep it on file against your organization.
Without a certificate on file, orders are processed at your local tax rate. That is not a preference, it is what we are required to do.
A custom order is created for you
Tax exempt orders are not placed through the normal cart. We build the order on our side with exemption applied, which is also how bulk and class pricing gets attached.

Why schools buy from a store with a door
Three things that matter more to a training program than they do to a salon.
Brand direct, or authorized
Every product comes from the brand itself or an authorized distributor. For a school that is not a nicety. Students learn a product's real behavior, and a counterfeit monomer teaches them the wrong lesson and then fails an inspection.
The gallons nobody ships
Gallon monomer, acetone and disinfectant cannot travel by standard parcel service from any supplier, because hazmat rules say so. A program that runs on those needs a supplier within driving distance. We are in Garden Grove and you can collect the same day.
Safety Data Sheets on file
Inspectors ask for current SDS on every chemical on the premises. We keep a linked library so you can pull the current sheet from the maker rather than a stale photocopy. See the safety data sheets page.
Questions schools ask
Do students need a license to shop here?
No. Shopping at C8 needs no cosmetology license. Students, enthusiasts, licensed techs and salon owners all buy the same product at the same shelf price. Send your class in and nobody gets turned away at the register.
Wholesale pricing is the only thing with a requirement, and that requirement is a seller's permit. See the wholesale program.
Can you hold an order for a term start?
Yes, and it is worth planning. Full sets and large orders need additional business days to pick, and colors that are short get sourced or refunded at the promotion price. Quote early, confirm the PO, and give us the date you need it in the building.
What if we are a spa, a salon chain or another tax exempt organization?
The same process works. Certificate on file, custom order, quote to purchase order, business check or business credit card. Call 714-868-7088 and we will tell you which of our programs fits, educational or wholesale.
We buy supplies we use on clients rather than resell. How is that treated?
That is a different question from buying for resale, and the answer turns on details we would rather get right than guess at. Call 714-868-7088 and ask for a manager, and we will walk through your situation with you.
Can a student return something they opened?
No. Anything applied is final sale, opened or unopened, because polish, powder and liquid carry no factory seal and hygiene rules do not bend for anyone. Tools and equipment come back within 14 days unopened. Worth covering on day one of a program. Full policy on returns and exchanges.
Tax already charged on a completed order cannot be removed retroactively. Get the certificate to us before the order is created.
Shipping on school orders follows the same rates as everything else, with the disposable kit exception noted above. Rates, zones and exclusions are on the shipping and handling page.
Buying at wholesale for resale is a separate program with its own paperwork and its own terms. The certificate form and the full terms are on the wholesale page and the wholesale terms and conditions.
Any issue, loss or adverse effect arising from lack of knowledge or training on a product is the customer's sole responsibility. For a teaching environment that is worth stating plainly, and it is why we would rather quote a slightly deeper kit than a slightly cheaper one.
