IBD
IBD is a hard gel house first. Hard gel is a sculpting gel that cures rock-solid under a lamp and is filed off rather than soaked off, which is what makes it the choice for length and strength on clients who are hard on their hands. C8 Nail Supply carries the IBD Hard Gel LED/UV builder gel across the full structural palette β Clear, Pink, Pink II, Natural II, White and Ultra White β plus the clear hard gel in an 8oz salon jar for high-volume work.
Adhesion is where hard gel sets fail, and IBD sells the prep as a system: LED/UV Bonder 0.5oz, PowerBond gel bonder, Dehydrate, Primer Stick and Primer Natural Nail. On top, Intense Seal no-cleanse top coat comes in 0.5oz and in an 8oz UV no-clean refill, alongside the Just Gel no-cleanse top and the soak-off gel top coat. Control Gel slip solution in 8.5oz supports sculpting work. For color, IBD Just Gel Nail Polish is stocked in 0.5oz, and a 130-color pre-selected grab bag is available for techs building a wall fast.
Compare bottle-applied structure in builder gel and builder gel in a bottle, sculpt with acrylic and monomer or poly gel, browse the wider gel nail polish range, and cure under a UV LED nail lamp.
Frequently Asked Questions β IBD Hard Gel
What is hard gel and how is it different from gel polish?
Hard gel is a thick sculpting gel used to build length and structure. It cures into a rigid layer that must be filed off. Gel polish is a thin color coat that soaks off in acetone. They are different products for different jobs, even though both cure under the same lamp.
Can hard gel be soaked off?
No. Hard gel is non-porous once cured and acetone will not break it down. It is reduced with an e-file and a carbide bit. Any product sold as soak-off is by definition a soft gel, not a hard gel.
What is the difference between IBD Bonder and PowerBond?
Both are adhesion layers applied to the prepped natural nail before product. They differ in formulation and grip strength, so technicians choose based on how much a particular client lifts. Use one or the other, not both, and always over a properly dehydrated nail.
Which IBD builder gel color should I use?
Clear is for overlays and encapsulation where the natural nail shows through. Pink and Pink II build a warm nail bed for pink-and-white sets. Natural II is the neutral option. White and Ultra White are the tip whites, with Ultra White the more opaque of the two.
